Race Rules, Regulations & Race Bib Transfer
The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy your race, but we do have some basic rules that will ensure that
things run smoothly. A reminder that participants with baby strollers or joggers will be allowed to participate in the 5K race and 1-Mile Fun Run Only. Participants utilizing strollers and joggers should start at the back of the 5K start line.
- No strollers are allowed in the 10K or Half Marathon.
- No pets (dogs), roller blades, skateboards, bikes, etc. are allowed in any of the races.
- 5K age limit: 8 years of age or older
- 10K and Half Marathon age limit: 14 years old of age or older
To ensure that you receive an accurate time make sure your race bib, which has the timing tag on the back (removal of timing strips will result in disqualification) is clearly visible on the front of your body. We will not have assigned start corrals, so we ask that you line up according to your pace per mile. If you plan to walk the race, please line up near the back of the start. Remember your timing chip does not start until you officially cross the start line.
Transferring of race bibs is not allowed in this race. While the practice of giving your race bib to someone else may seem harmless it can result in serious consequences to both parties involved. It’s an issue of false identity and a liability issue. Why? The most important reason is that your race bib is attached to your identity, so if an emergency occurs that requires medical attention or a race official must identify a participant, we need to have accurate information. In addition, finisher awards may be impacted. If race organizers identify an individual who has given their race bib to another person, it will result in disqualification and a minimum two-year ban for both individuals for any GO! St. Louis race.
Deferral Policy – Half Marathon Participants Only
If for a medical reason you are unable to participate in the Great GO! St. Louis Halloween Half Marathon, you have the option of deferring your entry to either
the 2019 Marathon Weekend Half Marathon or
the 2019 Great GO! St. Louis Halloween Half Marathon with a note from a medical professional. This deferral is valid for 50% of the entry fee. The deferral is neither transferable to another person or another race and is non refundable. The deferral is only valid for one calendar year.
To defer you must call the GO! St. Louis office at (314) 727-0800 by October 15, 2018.
GO! St. Louis is committed to providing the safest race course for our participants. We therefore set time limits to ensure that all runners are protected from vehicular traffic and have the aid station support they need to successfully complete the race.
The overall course pace is 14:52 minutes per mile, which will be strictly enforced. Any runner who falls behind this pace will be asked to move to the sidewalk and obey all traffic signals. If you choose to continue there will be no medical support, aid stations, or course monitors at intersections, and the course will no longer be marked. Participants after that time will not be guaranteed a finish time, medal, or finish line festivities.
- Half Marathon: 3 hours, 15 minutes
- 10K: 2 hours
- 5K: 1 hour
