The GO! St. Louis All-American 5K & Fun Run promises to be pure All-American fun, complete with apple pie and ice cream, and is open to all ages and fitness abilities. The flat-downhill 5k course will be ideal for those athletes looking for a new PR (personal record) on a scenic neighborhood course.

This 5K race & Fun Run (1-Mile) is a summer family tradition, so make plans to join us on Father’s Day!

Event includes:

  • High quality shirt to all participants
  • Finisher Medal to 5K participants
  • Fun and Festive Post-Race Refreshments, including Ice Cream
  • Prize Money for Overall 5K Winners
  • Apple Pies for Top 3 in 5K Age Groups

Race Course

The 5K course starts in downtown Kirkwood (325 North Taylor, near the YMCA) and finishes in Webster Groves (East Lockwood & North Gore). The course will be flat with numerous downhills, so here’s your chance to set a new PR (personal record) in the 5K.  Please note that the start of the 1-Mile is in Webster Groves and not in Kirkwood.

Webster Groves Vs. Kirkwood Rivals Race

The All-American 5K starts every year in downtown Kirkwood and finishes in downtown Webster Groves – but this year, we’re going to add a little friendly competition into the mix with a Kirkwood vs. Webster Groves rival race. So lace up your running shoes and get ready to duke it out to claim this year’s All-American team title.

Join the rivals race by registering for the All-American 5K and selecting your team (Kirkwood or Webster Groves). We’ll have special bibs for you to wear so everyone knows what team you’re on for race day (and of course to cheer for your teammates and sprint past your competitors!)

The team with the fastest team average 5K time will be declared the winner! Winning team gets bragging rights for the year, and GO! St. Louis will donate $500 to the cross country program at the winning team’s high school!

Already registered for the All-American 5K? Just send us an email (info@gostlouis.org) and we can update your registration for you!

Time Limits

GO! St. Louis is committed to providing the safest race course for our participants. We therefore set time limits to ensure that all runners are protected from vehicular traffic and have the aid station support they need to successfully complete the race.

The overall course time limit is 1 hour, which will be strictly enforced. Any runner who falls behind this pace will be asked to move to the sidewalk and obey all traffic signals. If you choose to continue there will be no medical support, aid stations, or course monitors at intersections, and the course will no longer be marked. Participants after that time will not be guaranteed a finish time, medal, or finish line festivities.

Race Day Parking & Shuttle Service

Parking

There are a variety of parking options available on race morning, but the majority of the parking will be available in Kirkwood. If you are parking in Kirkwood, there is a parking garage at Madison & Kirkwood Road or street parking is available on Argonne, Jefferson and Madison. In Webster Groves, there will be plenty of parking available on side streets and lots in and around the business district. Please DO NOT park on the race course along Adams and Woodlawn. Points of interest near the 5K start line are the Kirkwood train station, Commerce Bank, Bar Louie and Kaldi’s Coffee.

Shuttle

Since the 5K race starts in Kirkwood and finishes in Webster Groves we will offer a free shuttle service after the 5K race from Webster Groves back to the start line in Kirkwood, beginning at 8:30 am, and concluding at 9:30 am. For those 5K participants that choose to park near the finish line in Webster Groves, we offer shuttle service to the start line in Kirkwood beginning at 5:30 am, and ending at 7:00 am. Look for the large shuttle flag banners, which indicate pickup/drop off locations.

Rules, Regulations & Race Bib Transfer

  • 5K age limit: 8 years of age or older

We do allow baby joggers/strollers in both the 5K and the Fun Run, but must start at the back of the start line area. No dogs, pets, roller blades, skateboards or wagons are allowed in any of the races.

Transferring of race bibs is not allowed in this race. While the practice of giving your race bib to someone else, may seem harmless, it can result in serious consequences to both parties involved. It’s an issue of false identity and a liability issue. Why? The most important reason is that your race bib is attached to your identity, so if an emergency occurs that requires medical attention or a race official must identify a participant, we need to have accurate information. In addition, finisher awards may be impacted. If race organizers identify an individual who has given their race bib to another person, it will result in disqualification and a minimum two-year ban for both individuals for any GO! St. Louis race.

Weather Policy

Race officials may cancel, delay or change the event in case of extreme weather or other conditions that may affect the safety and health of the participants. In the event of cancellation, refunds will not be issued. Weather related updates will be posted through our official Facebook and Twitter pages, and through the local media.
