The 2015 Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend T-Shirts are Here!

With the GO! St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend race just over a week away, we are happy to give our runners a peek at the amazing t-shirts they’ll be receiving!

Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Relay runners will receive a navy blue technical shirt featuring our 15th anniversary logo. The shirts are short sleeved and made with a variety of moisture wicking fabrics to keep you comfortable throughout your race!

Participants in other Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend races will receive regular cotton tees featuring the same colors and logo.

Runners’ Rules of the Road

When participating in any race, it’s important to follow a set of guidelines to ensure that you and the runners around you have the best experience possible!

General Rules for Running in an Event

Follow the rules of the race outlined on the race entry form! All runners have a collective responsibility to keep the event safe. Races generally discourage running with dogs, headphones, cell phones, and jogging strollers.
Pre-register even if same day registration is offered. This will help ease the registration process for everyone involved.

Thanks to our Read, Right & Run Marathon Packet Volunteers!

The GO! St. Louis Read, Right & Run Marathon is a nationally recognized youth fitness program. The program is designed to encourage local students to become better readers, engage with their communities and stay physically fit.

Students between kindergarten and fifth grade are eligible to participate and receive an activity book at the beginning of the six-month-long program. Over the course of six months, students are motivated to accomplish the following:

READ 26 books
RIGHT their communities by doing 26 good deeds
RUN 26.2 miles

Tip of the Week: Injury Prevention and Treatment brought to you by St. Louis Injury and Rehabilitation Center

We had the privilege of speaking with Dr. Bill Cragg of the St. Louis Injury and Rehabilitation Center. He shared some of his injury prevention and treatment tips with us.

First, we think our runners should know a little about the St. Louis Injury and Rehabilitation Center (SLIR). SLIR is uses chiropractic care to treat their patients’ injuries. Athletes, like runners, are especially prone to finding themselves with the types of treatable injuries that SLIR and Dr. Cragg specialize in.
