GO! St. Louis to Assist Cardinals Care with New 6K Run

GO! St. Louis will partner with the St. Louis Cardinals by providing race management for an exciting new run for Cardinals Care, the charitable foundation of the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals Care Run Home for Kids 6K event, a tribute to Stan Musial and the number six that was worn by the legendary Cardinals slugger, will take place on Sunday, August 29 at 8:06 am. The first-time race will help promote fitness and raise money for Cardinals Care. The run will start outside Busch Stadium’s Gate 3, wind along the city and finish on the field with every participant crossing home plate. This marks the second baseball-themed race GO! St. Louis has provided race assistance. More than 8,000 people participated in the inaugural Major League Baseball All-Star Charity 5K Run in July, 2009.

Share-A-Pair Program Hits Stride

As part of our 10th anniversary celebration, GO! St. Louis has launched a new community-wide program to collect 20,010 pairs of shoes in 2010. We have partnered with MERS-Goodwill to encourage area residents to clean out their closets and donate those gently-used shoes. Collected shoes will be reused or recycled and ultimately assist area individuals to live and work more independently. Get the details!
