The GO! St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness weekend moves to Riverfront

After 16 years at Soldiers Memorial, GO! St. Louis is moving the Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend Sunday start and finish line to the St. Louis Riverfront next to the Gateway Arch. The 2017 Marathon and Family Fitness Weekend is set for April 8 & 9.

The new start and finish line on the Riverfront will be host to the marathon, half marathon, marathon relay and the Mississippi 7K.  “As St. Louis’ hometown race, we are thrilled to be using this iconic St. Louis landmark as the backdrop for our Marathon Weekend,” said Mona Langenberg, president of GO! St. Louis. “To be able to showcase this local gem is an honor for the organization, and very exciting for our runners.”

“Having the new start and finish line for GO! St. Louis on the riverfront is incredibly exciting,” said Eric Moraczewski, executive director of CityArchRiver Foundation. “One of the main goals of the CityArchRiver project was to bring more activity and vibrancy to the Arch grounds and riverfront. 25,000 GO! St. Louis participants and their supporters celebrating in the shadow of the Gateway Arch is a perfect illustration of that vision becoming reality.”

The GO! St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend is GO! St. Louis’ signature event that draws over 25,000 people to run and walk in a weekend full of races and other activities to inspire fitness. GO! St. Louis is a local non-profit organization.
