This event attracts many of the region’s elite runners, along with thousands of runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. This year every participant in the half marathon, 10K, and 5K will receive a super soft tech hoodie and top notch finisher’s medal!

This year we have added some extra halloween fun starting with the Trick-or-Treat 5K! The 5K course will be lined with not only your usual water stops but also candy stops for you to trick or treat along the way! The 10K and half marathon courses have some added adventure this year as well! As you run through downtown St. Louis you will have to watch out for the Zombie Zone and you might even see the Ghostbusters in action!

The fun doesn’t end when the race is over! Get your  top of the line finisher’s medal, and head over to the Trick-or-Treat Village to fill up on candy and treats from local business and organizations. For the over-21 crowd, Michelob Ultra will be on site to help you enjoy a post race brew.

The Great Halloween Race starts near Soldier’s Memorial, which is located at 1300 Chestnut in downtown St. Louis. If you choose to drive, plenty of free street parking is available around the event site in addition to select parking garages, although with more than 5,000 participants and thousands of spectators expected, please plan to arrive early. The races start at 7:00 am. We also suggest that you check out the Missouri Department of Transportation website for last minute street/exit closures unrelated to the race.

Race Rules, Regulations & Race Bib Transfer

The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy your race, but we do have some basic rules that will ensure that things run smoothly. A reminder that participants with baby strollers or joggers will be allowed to participate in the 5K race and 1-Mile Fun Run Only. Participants utilizing strollers and joggers should start at the back of the 5K start line. No strollers are allowed in the 10K or Half Marathon. Also, no pets (dogs), roller blades, skateboards, bikes, etc. are allowed in any of the races. To ensure that you receive an accurate time make sure your race bib, which has the timing tag on the back (removal of timing strips will result in disqualification) is clearly visible on the front of your body. We will not have assigned start corrals, so we ask that you line up according to your pace per mile. If you plan to walk the race, please line up near the back of the start. Remember your timing chip does not start until you officially cross the start line.

Transferring of race bibs is not allowed in this race. While the practice of giving your race bib to someone else, may seem harmless, it can result in serious consequences to both parties involved. It’s an issue of false identity and a liability issue. Why? The most important reason is that your race bib is attached to your identity, so if an emergency occurs that requires medical attention or a race official must identify a participant, we need to have accurate information. In addition, finisher awards may be impacted. If race organizers identify an individual who has given their race bib to another person, it will result in disqualification and a minimum two-year ban for both individuals for any GO! St. Louis race.
