St. Louis’ Most Festive Race!

The Great GO! St. Louis Halloween Race is host to a half marathon, 10K, 5K and 1-mile fun run – with a special Halloween twist! This event attracts many of the region’s elite runners, along with thousands of runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.

This year we have added some extra Halloween fun starting with the Trick-or-Treat 5K! The 5K course will be lined with not only your usual water stops but also candy stops for you to trick or treat along the way! The 10K and half marathon courses have some added adventure this year as well! As you run through downtown St. Louis you will have to watch out for the Zombie Zone and you might even see the Ghostbusters in action!

The fun doesn’t end when the race is over! Get your  top of the line finisher’s medal, and head over to the Trick-or-Treat Village to fill up on candy and treats from local business and organizations. For the over-21 crowd, Michelob Ultra will be on site to help you enjoy a post race brew.

This race promises to be the most festive in St. Louis! Hurry, as this race is limited to the first 5,000 registrants!

Race Rules, Regulations & Race Bib Transfer

The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy your race, but we do have some basic rules that will ensure that things run smoothly. A reminder that participants with baby strollers or joggers will be allowed to participate in the 5K race and 1-Mile Fun Run Only. Participants utilizing strollers and joggers should start at the back of the 5K start line.

  • No strollers are allowed in the 10K or Half Marathon.
  • No pets (dogs), roller blades, skateboards, bikes, etc. are allowed in any of the races.

To ensure that you receive an accurate time make sure your race bib, which has the timing tag on the back (removal of timing strips will result in disqualification) is clearly visible on the front of your body. We will not have assigned start corrals, so we ask that you line up according to your pace per mile. If you plan to walk the race, please line up near the back of the start. Remember your timing chip does not start until you officially cross the start line.

Transferring of race bibs is not allowed in this race. While the practice of giving your race bib to someone else, may seem harmless, it can result in serious consequences to both parties involved. It’s an issue of false identity and a liability issue. Why? The most important reason is that your race bib is attached to your identity, so if an emergency occurs that requires medical attention or a race official must identify a participant, we need to have accurate information. In addition, finisher awards may be impacted. If race organizers identify an individual who has given their race bib to another person, it will result in disqualification and a minimum two-year ban for both individuals for any GO! St. Louis race.

Deferral Policy – Half Marathon Participants Only

If for a medical reason you are unable to participate in the Great GO! St. Louis Halloween Half Marathon, you have the option of deferring your entry to either the 2018 Marathon Weekend Half Marathon  or the 2018 Great GO! St. Louis Halloween Half Marathon. This deferral is valid for 50% of the entry fee of your chosen race. The deferral is neither transferable nor refundable and is only valid for one calendar year.

To defer you must call the GO! St. Louis office at (314) 727-0800 by October 15, 2017.

Time Limits

GO! St. Louis is committed to providing the safest race course for our participants. We therefore set time limits to ensure that all runners are protected from vehicular traffic and have the aid station support they need to successfully complete the race.

The overall course pace is 14:52 minutes per mile, which will be strictly enforced. Any runner who falls behind this pace will be asked to move to the sidewalk and obey all traffic signals. If you choose to continue there will be no medical support, aid stations, or course monitors at intersections, and the course will no longer be marked. Participants after that time will not be guaranteed a finish time, medal, or finish line festivities.

  • Half Marathon: 3 hours, 15 minutes
  • 10K: 2 hours
  • 5K: 1 hour

Weather or Disaster Emergency

In the event of severe weather or a disaster that causes the event to be delayed, altered or canceled we encourage you to listen to the announcer at the start/finish line or race officials along the course for special instructions. The event will proceed rain or shine. No refunds will be issued for an event that is delayed, altered or canceled. Any pre-race weather or disaster related information will also be posted on our Facebook page and Twitter page.

The first three finishers in each age group in the Half-Marathon, 10K and 5K receive a pumpkin pie as a special award. Visit the awards tent after the race to see if you are a winner.
